Chapel Hill Study-Fest: Days 5 & 6

How we feel right now:

Um, yeah. Can’t wait til this test is over. Maria, Elle and I spent 11 – yes, 11 – hours at Maria’s house on Friday taking RD exam practice tests, reviewing, and taking more practice tests. The questions are pretty ridiculous to be honest – lots of food service and management stuff I’m never going to use. Sigh.

After our big day Friday, we all decided to take it a little easier yesterday. Saturday morning, Elle and I headed to the Tobacco Trail for a run! Before I left DC last week, I told Elle that I needed to get in a long run this weekend for spring half marathon training (post on this coming soon!) and she was thankfully on board to join me. 🙂

It was a really pretty, sunny morning out – cold but perfect for running! I miss this trail – so peaceful and wooded once you get a little farther down.

I haven’t run more than 6 miles since the Army 10 Miler right after our wedding in October last year, so I was wondering how I’d feel doing 8 again, but I’m happy to say I felt great! We enjoyed the weather and chatted away and the miles flew by.

Average pace: 8:59 minute/miles. Yay!

After our run, we cleaned up and headed out to brunch! Jessee’s – man, I miss this place.

Pretty latte:

Plus my favorite – the open faced biscuit sandwich, with scrambled eggs, tomato, turkey, and cheese. AMAAAAZING.

Elle and I spent the rest of the afternoon getting a little more studying done before running some errands. For dinner, we met some of our UNC classmates for dinner at a place called Panzella in Carrboro! It was great seeing them. 🙂

I started with the (unpictured, but delish) butternut squash soup, and for my entrée I had a big beet salad topped with salmon, candied walnuts, and goat cheese. Very good!

Today we’re getting back to studying in full force. Here we goooooo!
